About Me
I have been a pastor at Ada Bible Church in Grand Rapids Michigan for over 15 years. For the first chunk of my career, I had the privilege of walking alongside young adults, helping them navigate faith in real life. For the last two years, I've served as the campus pastor for our newest campus, and I'm loving this role. I've been teaching several times each year from our broadcast platform since 2014, reaching thousands across multiple locations. As a husband and father of three boys, I understand the beautiful chaos of family life and bring that authenticity to every message. I speak from the heart, weaving together relevant stories, a deep love for Scripture, and an unshakeable belief that God cares about our struggles, meets us in our need, and has incredible hopes for our future.
Fair warning: I'm the speaker who orders the spiciest item on every menu and considers mild salsa a personal insult. I love my family deeply, though I'm not loving that I now need a stepladder to make eye contact with my boys. For years, I snuck into their rooms to pray Luke 2:52 over them – 'grow in wisdom and stature.' Looking at them now, I clearly overdid the stature part. Winter is my nemesis – I'd move to the equator if I could convince my family. Speaking of family, we're five years from an empty nest, which terrifies and excites me in equal measure. Someone told me empty nesting is like dating but in pajamas, and honestly, after years of young adult ministry, that sounds like the perfect next chapter.
